Gene Stilwell, Executive Sales Manager of Town & Country’s East Hampton office, is also the President and Co-founder of Stages — a non-profit Children’s Theatre Workshop which provides children a place to act, sing, dance and perform! This summer, Stages will be celebrating its 20th year of performing arts with the opening of a Summer Musical Theater Camp at the Southampton Town Recreation Center. The camp is for children between the ages of 8 to 18. Offering two different three week sessions (July 1 – 27 and/or August 1 – 24) from 11am –4 pm Monday through Friday, children will begin their day with acting, singing and dancing lessons and finish their day rehearsing for a performance. At the end of the three weeks the children will perform a show in front of their friends, family and community members.
Gene Stilwell and his wife, Helene Leonard, the other Co-founder and Director, began Stages as they felt Eastern Long Island needed a creative outlet for children to learn the performing arts. The opportunities and benefits children take away from this organization cannot be measured. Gene and Helene raise the bar for these children every day, installing a sense of dedication, commitment and passion for acting.
